Frequently Asked Questions About Enrollment
What happens after I accept enrollment for my student?
Upon completing and returning the enrollment paperwork, your student will be officially enrolled in Promontory School of Expeditionary Learning for the 2017-2018 school year. Your student's current school will be notified that he or she will not be returning next year, and the current school will plan accordingly for the upcoming school year.
What happens to the status of enrolled siblings if I choose not to accept enrollment for my student selected through the lottery?
Each student is assigned a number identifying the order in which they are drawn from the lottery. If the student selected through the lottery chooses not to accept enrollment, his siblings will be placed back on a list in the order they were selected.
What process do I follow if I enroll my child and subsequently choose to withdraw him?
Student transfers between Utah's public charter schools and school districts are governed by Utah State Law. If a student has accepted enrollment to Promontory for the 2015-2016 school year and the parent wishes to withdraw the student from Promontory for enrollment in his or her school district of residence for the 2016-2017 school year, the student's parent must follow the procedures outlined in our transfer policy.
Can I enroll my students in two schools and decide on one school later?
A student cannot be enrolled in two schools for the same school year. Once Promontory receives your acceptance response, your student will be enrolled in Promontory and withdrawn from his current school for the 2016-2017 school year. This process allows the student's current school district and Promontory to appropriately plan for the upcoming year. Monthly reports required by the State Board of Education will be sent to the school districts of children enrolled at Promontory.
