Every year as part of Reading Madness Month, we include a service project to provide books for people in need. This year, we are partnering with Operation Paperback to provide books to the men and women in our military. You and your students can participate in two ways:

1. Donate new and gently used paperback books. We will have a collection box outside of the library all month. Soldiers have specifically requested books in the following genres:​

   • History and military history (non-fiction)

   • Books about leadership (non-fiction)

   • Self-help books

   • Biographies

   • Classic literature

   • Comic books/graphic novels

   • Cozy mysteries

   • Suspense novels

2. Participate in Blues for Books on Friday, February 21. Students bring $1 for the privilege of wearing blue jeans that day. All money collected will be used to package and ship the books.​
